Sad truth about my new pans

After my post about the new pans, I researched a bit more about the pans I bought. Then I read that the nonstick surface that is used for my new pans were pretty much the same or similar as Teflon and even made by the same company... Maybe I should have gone with stainless steel. Sad sad....

I reviewed more about the return policy. I'll be paying for my own shipping (which I did not pay when the package arrived) and potentially a restocking fee since I partially opened the package. So, I am going to lose at least 10% of the original cost and potentially up to 30% if they determine that the packaging is damaged. Sigh. I am really wondering if it's worth returning the item if I don't get all my money back. It doesn't seem to be a bad product. I liked their pot and haven't had any problem for 5 years. Anyways, now I am leaning towards keeping it. This is, indeed, an expensive lesson learned for me.

Marie - Maybe I will. I should have kept the box... But at least, I have not open the pans.

I agree - send them back if you don't think you'll be happy with them. We got a set of hard anodized pots & pans in August (after checking them out for a few years). From my understanding the biggest difference is how the non-stick is applied, it's baked on. I love my set - we've only had them for going on six months but I've fried using high heat as well as other things at high temps. I love that I can put them in the oven, too, like when making frittatas. I know it's only been 6 months but they are in much better condition after 6 months of use than the cheapo regular non-stick ones we always bought before.

I agree with the Wolfley Family comment- I bought an Analon set about 1.5 years ago and they are holding up very very well. Still looks new. I really like the even way they cook and that you can put them in the oven. Good luck with whatever you decide! It is exciting to get new pans/pots though :). Makes you want to cook all sorts of things to try them out.
