Adeline's First International Trip - Part 1

It has been almost 2 weeks since we came back from Japan. Because of the busy pace of life here, it seems like this trip never happened. But we had such a great time in Japan and we already miss it so much!

日本から帰ってきてもうすぐ２週間が経ちます。こちらの生活がとても忙しいので、この旅行がまるでなかったみたいに思えます。でも、日本ですごい楽しい時間を過ごせて、すでに日本が恋しいです。

Our 12 hour flight from LA to Tokyo was a very long flight as Adeline slept for only 4 hours. Because of jet lag and lack of sleep, She was completely out for that night and missed her first dinner in Japan. We tried to wake her up, but nothing worked.

アディーは飛行機で４時間しか寝なかったのでロスから成田までは長い１２時間でした。着いてから、疲れと時差ぼけで爆睡でした。

Our first meal in Japan. It was simple, but so good. It was worth the long flight, I thought. After the dinner, we said good-bye to Mike as he was going to spent the next 10 days with his class. It was really sad to leave him because we had never been apart for that long since we got married. But we were able to stay in touch for the whole time thanks to my dad who let Mike use his iPhone during our stay in Japan.

日本での最初の夕飯。おいしかったです。夕飯の後にマイクと別れて、マイクは学校のクラスの人たちと次の１０日間を過ごしました。結婚してから１０日間も別々に過ごしたことがなかったので、寂しかったですが、お父さんがiPhoneを貸してくれたのでマイクと連絡を取ることができました。

Adeline woke up at 3 in the morning the next day. I tried to tell her it was still too early to wake up and she needed to sleep, but her little body didn't understand. Unfortunately, this lasted the next four days.

アデリンは朝の３時に起床。寝ないとだめだよって言っても、わかってなかったみたいです。４日間くらいは時差ぼけで朝早く起きてました。

Adeline and I stayed with my youngest sister and her little family for the two weeks we had in Japan. Adeline met her cousin Kanna for the first time in life and they became best friends instantly.

アデリンと私は妹の家に泊まりました。アデリンも従姉妹のカンナと初対面。すぐに仲良しになりました。

They played, laughed, cried and fought. But they were together from morning till night for the next 2 weeks.

毎日朝から晩まで遊んで、笑って、泣いて、けんかしての２週間でした。

Adeline wanted to do everything Kanna was doing. During our stay, she learned so many new words, songs and even Kanna's habits.

アデリンはカンナのやってることを全部やりたいと言って、２週間で新しい言葉とか歌をいっぱい教えてもらいました。

It was so fun for me to see them play together. At first, I thought I wouldn't enjoy this trip as much because Mike wasn't with us, but I was able to really enjoy it. There was no work or chore to worry about. All I had to care about was Adeline and it was so nice. I think Addie and I got closer during this trip because we spent every hour of every day together. As a working mom, it was such a treat. I am really thankful.

普段は仕事をしててなかなかアディーと一緒にいる機会が少ないので、仕事も家事も気にせずに、アディーと一緒に時間を過ごせて本当にいい機会になりました。
